They Matter Too
"It's either us or your dogs!"
Without a doubt and over and over I would choose my dogs.
No questions.
As a living being judging is our first instinct mainly for survival purposes but what we don’t realized is sometimes we let it get the best of us.
When we see things, animals, and other people that don’t match up to our standard we automatically judge them. We shoved them away, pushed them down, talked over them, walked over them, and moved on as if nothing happens. Many times these actions goes unnoticed unless it’s towards another human being and too often we don’t think about our action.
I’ve witness this. I’ve done it. I’ve stood against it.
By all means it just goes to tell that no one is perfect.
It’s been two years since I started my reflection journey and one of the many things I’ve learn is that the things we see no value in matters.
Yes, they matters too.
I’ve learned that everything in life has a value and that level of importance depends on who the individual is. I’ve learned that it is important for me to not judge someone or something unless I’m in there shoe. For instance, a lot of people have asked me, "Why do you treat your dog so nicely? They're just dogs."
This hurts.
What hurt isn’t being asked why I’m being so nice to my fur babies. The strikes of pains comes in when they said, “They’re just dogs.”
You see, to the world my fur babies are just dogs but to me they are my whole world. My best friends and the only two I have.
From the very moment I met my fur babies until now they taught me more about myself than the 23 years I’ve been living.
Lesson 1: Our differences should be value. There's no two things that are the same, even replica of things. The outside may be the same but the inside to the slightest molecules, there's a difference.
If any pet can accept us as their human friends why can’t we do the same and accept them for who they are.
Lesson 2: My voice is important regardless of who I am, what I am, and where I am.
As a dog communicating with humans, she understood that the languages are different yet every single day with every chance she understood that she can make a difference if she uses her voice.
Lesson 3: My presence matter regardless of where I'm at.
As a dog living with other animals and humans, she understood that she may not get all the attention she needs most days yet every single days with every chance she gets she'll make herself get noticed by just being in the room and living in the moment.
The biggest lesson I learn from being with my babies is that little things matters too. From plants to human all living things matter. This planet wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for all existences. When we’re in a situations we don’t understand we shouldn’t judge to feel better but instead we must be accepting and learn to enjoy the differences.
