The One & Only

Over the weekend, here in MN, along with Thanksgiving we celebrated the Hmong New Year and as I prepared myself for the festival a message came through.

The Hmong New Year back in the olden days was the only time of the year for youngsters to meet each other since the Hmong villages are distances from one another and everyone is busy with their daily life, farming. During this celebration to send off the current year and welcome in the new year, singles will go out to mingle in hope of finding their one and only, someone to spend the rest of their life with. With the festival holding so much meaning and history to it the tradition of finding someone special still continues today.

On Sunday morning as I was getting ready to attend the festival my thoughts subconsciously wondered to the most asked question I’ve received this year, “Is that person my soulmate?” and and then I heard my spiritual team say,

“Why would you want to know if that person is your soulmate? If you love each other why should them being or not being your soulmate matters? Even your soulmate incarnated for a soul transformation. Just because they’re your soulmate doesn’t mean everything is picture perfect. You guys will experience difficulty together despite your connection because you’re destined to help each other grow. So, if you were to know who you’re destined to be with but what if your relationship with that person is more complicated than your relationship with another person, would you still choose your deemed destiny or would you rather choose the other person due to easier circumstances?”

The message got me thinking.

Life is full of challenges and we often think peace and ease is what we want but what we actually want is to be with someone we can be ourselves around and grow with. We want someone that can guide us and ground us instead of someone who's overly judgmental and is always trying to mold us into their image of perfection.

For me personally, even before I understood my spiritual journey, if I had to choose someone to spend the rest of my life with, I would always choose my partner, regardless of the challenges we’ve faced. We are both flawed but at the end of the day, we’re always growing together and willing to support one another. He is what makes me feel at home and keeps me grounded. There’s nothing more special than the connection we shared both in the 3D and 5D world. What we created and shared together in this lifetime and in the previous is something eternal, beautiful and deeply indescribable. I wouldn’t want to settle for anything else if it’s not with him.

What about you? Who would you choose?

Remember the choice is always yours to make.

Note: There are many different types of soulmates. This message refers to what we often refer to as our “other half.”
