Soul Calling
In shamanic practices we perform soul calling rituals when an individual is sick. The soul could have been lost or it has left the body due to sadness or other reasons.
When our soul is not lost but chooses to leave willingly this indicates that one has given up being with those around them for they never once felt welcomed or belong there.
Oftentimes soul calling is either done by a healer or someone who knows how to do it but never by the individual alone. This goes to show that in life we all want to be cherished by those around us. We all want companionships.
As the ritual is happening most times the person doing the soul calling would ask the individual's family members to help call and welcome the soul back home. This is to indicate that the family loves and wants the individual back and they're willing to do anything to show their love and care for the individual.
However, it is quite sad that this is not always the case. More than likely everything ends with broken promises.
In life we all seeked to be heard and welcome. We all desire to be loved and cherished. Here on earth we may be unconscious but our souls are not stupid. It knows what it wants. Once a soul leaves it knows it's leaving for good and in search of a new welcoming and loving home.
When a soul calling ritual is being done whatever is said should be kept because those are promises made to the souls. If promises aren't kept the soul can choose to leave again and again until it leaves long enough to have become lost or it finally crosses over to rebirth. Though souls are not stupid more so than often they will choose to come back because your promises to them are filled with hope. Hope for a change. Hope that they will be more loved, welcomed and cherished than before.
Never in my life had I seen anyone do a soul calling ritual for themselves until I started my spiritual journey. During one of my many first trances I went into the spiritual realm and ran into my soul. I chased after her and then negotiated with her. At the end, she came back, willingly, not on the note of knowing she'll be loved and cherished but on the note that she has a greater purpose to fulfill and on a promise that I will always fight for her and with her no matter what.
Nowadays I still do soul calling for myself because I know myself best. Even on occasions when someone else is doing soul calling for my family I would still have to call myself home because if I didn't she would not come.
After having performed many soul calling rituals, I've realized a certain pattern and after having shared my experiences someone said to me that they once fell sick and had to do a soul calling for themselves. While calling their soul home, they broke down multiple times, almost not being able to complete the ritual, because it felt like, in this whole wide world, they were alone.
I said this before and I will say it again, in life no one wants to be alone. As living beings we all desired to be accompanied, loved and cherished. Whether you're a person, animal, plant or molecule we all want to belong. No one wants broken promises. No one wants false hopes.
Please be kind to one another. Choose love, understanding and respect. Cherish each other now, not when one is sick or not here anymore.
