Inner Child Wound
What is the Inner Child Wounds?
What causes it?
What happens if it prolongs?
The inner child wounds are result(s) of traumatic, abusive, or abandonment experiences that one experienced during their childhood - often due to unmet emotional needs. It is often caused by the parents, guardians, or caretakers of the individual - when they fail to create a safe environment for their children.
Unaddressed inner child wounds don't simply fade away—they prolong, fester, and inevitably bleed onto those around us. This prolonged influence affects their relationships, their overall well-being, and nearly everything they do.
By healing these wounds, one gains the clarity to better identify their own needs, behaviors, and triggers. This clarity fosters a deeper sense of self-compassion and resilience, significantly supporting one's mental health and well-being. Ultimately, this shift promotes a healthier lifestyle and allows the individual to form and sustain healthier, more meaningful relationships.
We often spend years going through life believing our reactions are 'normal.' It is only when we encounter a teacher, therapist, or guide that we gain the necessary perspective to identify that deep-seated inner child wound, realizing the 'normal' we accepted was actually a wound we carried.
